Dear Reader: This may or may not mark the beginning of more blogging. Today I entered this poem into Vivian Kirkfield’s #50preciouswords contest. Of course, I hope to win alllll the things, but I hit <enter> because I needed this place of accountability after a hard week. Feeling some joy from putting myself out there.
Light by Andi Kate
The world stormed when she was born.
Most gave in
to the squall.
Forget, they said,
what can one spark do?
But she knew who she was
and her spark grew.
Threatened,
some tried to stamp
her out,
but that made her blaze,
ignite,
‘til the world filled with LIGHT.
